New foods might take many tries before your child likes it.

  • New foods may take some time—sometimes 10 or more tries!
  • Patience works better than pressure. This is a hard one to remember after we work hard to prepare a meal for our family.
  • Try new foods yourself! Show your kids it's fun to eat something new.
  • Add pureed vegetables into pancakes or muffins.
  • Don't offer new foods when your child is really hungry, wait for a more relaxed situation.
Try This

Buy frozen veggies and heat a tiny portion. This will avoid wasting food that your child is not ready to eat.

Tips for Trying New Foods

Adding veggies to smoothies helps kids try new foods and learn how tasty it is!
