  • Broiling means to cook food under intense heat. Both ovens and toasters have a "broil" setting.  Some ovens have a broiler on the bottom.

  • Broiling is very fast because of the high heat.  Keep an eye on your food to make sure it doesn't burn.

  • Broiling gives a nice crust to foods like meat, fish, and veggies.

  • If you don't have a grill, most recipes that call for "grilling" can be broiled.
