With spices and cilantro, this recipe gives a lively twist to pasta sauce. It is also traditionally made with potatoes!

What You'll Need

Directions

  1. In a large pot, heat oil. Add onions and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add garlic, cumin, coriander, and cayenne. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add beef and cook until brown, 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Add stock, pasta sauce, potatoes, carrot, and tomato. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are tender, about 20 minutes.
  5. Serve hot over warm pasta. Garnish with cilantro.

Chef Tips

  • Potatoes are commonly used in this dish. If you find the combination of potatoes and pasta unappealing, you can substitute cauliflower, eggplant, or zucchini instead.
