Homemade Marinara Sauce

Use this marinara sauce for pasta, chicken, or your favorite homemade pizza! Freeze leftovers for another day.

What you'll need

Can opener
Cooking pot
Measuring spoons
Sharp knife
Cutting board
Blender or food processor
Stovetop

Ingredients

Serves 4
56 ounces Whole Peeled Tomatoes
2 Carrots
4 cloves Garlic chopped
2 Onions chopped
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Salt to taste
of Black Pepper to taste
1 tablespoon Dried Basil optional
1 teaspoon Dried Oregano

Directions

1.Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
2.Add chopped carrots and onions, sauté until soft (10 minutes). Add chopped garlic and cook for an additional minute.
3.Add canned tomatoes, dried herbs (optional), salt and pepper.
4.Turn heat to low and simmer uncovered for one hour.

Chef's Tips

  • Replace the dried basil with 2 tablespoons of fresh basil.
