What are vegetarian sources of protein?

Save

Hi and thank you for your question!

Some vegetarian sources of proteins include:

  1. Nuts and seeds
  2. Beans and legumes
  3. Some grains (such as quinoa and wild rice)

If you make exceptions for dairy, eggs and other dairy foods, such as greek yogurt and cottage cheese, are rich sources of protein.

Check out our Vegetarian Meal Plans or vegetarian recipes for ideas.

It can be challenging to get all the nutrients you need on a vegetarian eating pattern, but it is very possible to get adequate nutrition if planned carefully and thoughtfully. If you haven't already, I encourage you to talk to your healthcare provider or a registered dietitian who can work more closely with you to make you sure you are meeting your nutritional needs.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
