Homemade Marinara Sauce
Use this marinara sauce for pasta, chicken, or your favorite homemade pizza! Freeze leftovers for another day.
What You'll Need
- Can opener
- Measuring spoon
- Cutting board
- Blender or food processor
- Large pot with lid
- Large spoon
Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
Add chopped carrots and onions, sauté until soft (10 minutes). Add chopped garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Add canned tomatoes, dried herbs (optional), salt and pepper.
Turn heat to low and simmer uncovered for one hour.
Replace the dried basil with 2 tablespoons of fresh basil
