Apricots (fresh and dried)


Apricots are a fruit with a pit and orange color. Their flavor ranges from sweet to tart. They are native to China.

Buy It

Choose fruits that are plump and brightly colored. They should be slightly soft or firm, not hard, with no bruises.

Store It

Store at room temperature until ripe. Then place in the refrigerator in a plastic bag. They should keep this way for 3–5 days.

Cook It

Eat whole or cut into pieces after removing pits.

Dried apricots make a high energy snack.

Add raw fruit to smoothies.
