Black Bean Dip

Serve this dip with your favorite raw veggies for a tasty snack.

What you'll need

Strainer
Can opener
Measuring spoons
Cutting board
Sharp knife
Blender or food processor
Serving bowl
Spatula or spoon

Ingredients

Serves 8
28 ounces Black Beans canned, drained and rinsed
1 Onion small, chopped (optional)
1 tablespoon Chili Powder
1 tablespoon Cilantro Fresh (optional)
of Red Pepper Flakes
of Salt to taste
of Black Pepper to taste
1 teaspoon Ground Cumin (optional)
1 Tomato small, chopped

Directions

1.Open can of beans, rinse, drain and place it in a blender or food processor.
2.Add chili powder and red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
3.If using optional ingredients (onion, cilantro, cumin), add to blender or food processor with other ingredients.
4.Blend ingredients until smooth. Add water in 1 tablespoon increments for a smoother consistency, if desired. Salt and pepper to taste.

Chef's Tips

Serve as a dip with your favorite veggies or whole wheat crackers. Also great as a side with Mexican dishes.
