Hello and thank you for your question!
The amount of calories in a martini is based on the size of the drink, alcohol content of the liquor and other added ingredients, such as olive juice or an olive garnish. A 2.25oz traditional martini contains approximately 124 calories.1 Choosing a drink of a larger size made with liquor of higher alcohol content, fruit juice and garnishes can increase the number of calories.
For those who choose to drink alcohol, the recommendations for safe consumption are up to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men—and only by adults of legal drinking age.2 In addition, there are circumstances in which individuals of legal drinking age are not recommended not to drink, such as during pregnancy. Examples of one alcoholic drink-equivalents include: 12 fluid ounces of regular beer (5% alcohol), 5 fluid ounces of wine (12% alcohol), or 1.5 fluid ounces of 80 proof distilled spirits (40% alcohol).2 This is important to note especially with mixed drinks, such as martinis, which can often count as more than one alcoholic drink.
Hope this helps!
