How do I cook chicken?

Save

Hi there and thank you for your question!

Chicken can be cooked in many ways. It can be braised, baked, roasted, grilled, sautéed and much more! When preparing chicken, it is important to practice safe food handling and proper cooking to keep you and your family safe from getting sick. Here are few safety tips:

  • Make sure your chicken is cooked to a safe minimum internal temperature of 165 °F (73.9 °C) . To check the internal temperature, place a food thermometer into the thickest or innermost part of the chicken. The temperature should increase and stabilize to at least 165 °F (73.9 °C).

  • Do not rinse or wash your chicken. Bacteria in raw meat and poultry juices can spread to your kitchen surfaces and food. Cooking the chicken at a safe temperature will destroy the bacteria (not washing)!
